These small businesses are the backbone of our country’s economy. Since July is Independent Retailer Month, we thought it might be fun to highlight a few of these independent shops.

The enterprise was founded during the pandemic when its owners realized the devastation the 2020 shutdown was having on our economy, especially in small town America. The Candy Cottage is another small business dedicated to meeting the needs of its neighbors and community. The store has been a staple in the downtown Holliston, Mass., business area since 2001. As Holliston’s Hometown Candy Store, it offer unique treats, custom gift baskets and more.
Zingerman’s is a family of small food-related companies and entrepreneurial ventures. Each is located in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, area. Our caramel is featured in the Zingerman's Candy Manufactory. Long River Gallery, located in White Junction, Vermont, shows the best of fine art and crafts from across the state as well as from neighboring New Hampshire.
